David Beck

Music Director – Dave was born at Lake Tahoe and has spent his whole life in the vicinity. He was a freestyle skier himself for many years, competing on his brother’s Alpine Meadows Freestyle Team in the early years.

Before retiring from the sport, Dave got a silver medal in dual moguls at the Junior National Freestyle Championships in 2001. As a result, he brings a certain innate understanding to the music he is developing for the film, not to mention, the emotion he harbors with the loss of his older brother.

Dave has loved creating music for years and has performed with a number of bands at local Lake Tahoe gathering spots. Primarily a lead guitarist, Dave’s other skills include vocals and composition. Recently, Dave and his sister, Emily, a graduate in vocal performance at California State University, Chico, collaborated on a rock opera, Visceral, which they debuted at John Ascuagua’s Nugget casino in 2009.

When he is not working on his music, Dave is a general contractor, working on projects in and around the Tahoe region, and is an accomplished and artistic natural furniture maker. He is married to Camille, who will begin her second year as a nursing student at Sacramento City College in Fall 2012. Together they conceived, built and orchestrated the placement of the beautiful memorial bench featured in the film.
